Fflach Music from Wales
fflach Ffurfiwyd Fflach yn 1981 gan y brodyr Richard a Wyn Jones, a oedd yn aelodau o'r grwp don newydd Cymraeg Ail Symudiad. Yr oedd y label yn recordio caneuon Ail Symudiad a rhoi cyfle i grwpiau eraill i recordio ar y label - Y Ficar, Eryr Wen, Malcolm Neon, Angylion Stanley, Y Diawled, Rocyn a Maffia Mr. Huws.

Yng nghanol yr wythdegau prynwyd offer recordio 8-trac a sefydlwyd stiwdio yn festri capel yn Aberteifi, ble roedd Wyn yn recordio artistiaid fel Ffenestri ac Aelwyd Crymych. Mewn ychydig symudodd Fflach y stiwdio i Heol Dinbych-y-Pysgod, ble newidwyd adeilad allanol i fod yn stiwdio. Buddsoddwyd wedyn mewn offer 24-trac, ac adeiladwyd ystafell fyw newydd. Erbyn diwedd yr wythdegau yr oedd nifer o grwpiau ac unigolion wedi recordio ar y label, ac yr oedd y catalog yn cynyddu. Yn ystod y cyfnod yma yr oedd gwelliannau yn cael eu gwneud i'r stiwdio. Yr oedd amrywiaeth o gerddoriaeth yn cael eu recordio gan gynnwys corau, canu gwerin a roc.

Tua canol y nawdegau yr oedd cerddoriaeth i blant yn chwarae rhan blaenllaw yn cynhyrchiadau Fflach. Cynhyrchwyd y caset Dau Gi Bach, a gwerthwyd llawer yn y flwyddyn gyntaf ac yn awr ar ffurf CD y mae dal i werthu, ac mae yna gasgliad eang o gerddoriaeth i blant ar y label.

Ym 1997 penderfynwyd sefydlu label newydd o'r enw Fflach Tradd, label i hyrwyddo cerddoriaeth draddodiadol Gymreig yng Nghymru ac hefyd thramor. 'Ffidil' a 'Datgan' oedd y CD's cyntaf ar y label hyn ac yr oedd rhai o ffidlwyr gorau Cymru ar 'Ffidil' a rhai o gantorion mwyaf blaenllaw y byd canu traddodiadol o Gymru, Llydaw, Iwerddon a'r Alban ar 'Datgan'. Ceri Matthews y pibydd enwog o Bencader a apwyntiwyd yn gynhyrchydd y CD's yma ac erbyn hyn y mae yna nifer yn y casgliad. Y mae artistiaid Fflach Tradd wedi perfformio dros y byd o Iwerddon i Fietnam, ac mae'r label wedi cael ymateb gwych mewn sawl lle yn y byd. Y mae'r CD's yn gwerthu yn Lloegr, Yr Alban, Iwerddon, Yr UDA, Canada a Ffrainc.

Yn y flwyddyn 2000 dechreuwyd label pop newydd o'r enw Rasp ac y mae yna nifer o fandiau wedi recordio gan gynnwys Yr Anhygoel (Rasp 001), Texas Radio Band, Boisbach, Vanta, Doli, DJ Dafis, Martin John, MC Mabon, Mattoidz, Kald ac yn fwy diweddar Swci Boscawen, Garej Dolwen, HaKome a Rasputin.

Erbyn hyn y mae'r stiwdio yn gwbl ddigidol ac yn 32-trac ac mae'r offer wedi datblygu hefyd, mae ar gael i'w hurio (ffoniwch neu e-bostiwch am wybodaeth). Gweler STIWDIO am restr o offer.

Y mae gan Fflach hefyd gwmni cyhoeddi o'r enw Cyhoeddiadau Mwldan, lle mae gwasanaeth cyhoeddi caneuon ar gael.

Yn y stiwdio y mae adnoddau ar gyfer dybio rhaglenni teledu, ac mae sawl rhaglen wedi cael ei gwneud yno ar gyfer S4C gan y cwmni Wes Glei, hefyd mae yna uned Verity ar gyfer dyblygu CD's a DVD's gyda argraffu 'on-body'. Felly mae'r dyfodol yn edrych yn brysur iawn i Fflach, fflach:tradd, a'r label pop, Rasp.

Fflach was formed in 1981 by the brothers Richard and Wyn Jones, who were members of Welsh new wave group Ail Symudiad. The label recorded songs by Ail Symudiad and gave an opportunity for other groups to record on the label such as - Y Ficar, Eryr Wen, Malcolm Neon, Angylion Stanley, Y Diawled, Rocyn and Maffia Mr. Huws.

In the mid-eighties Fflach bought an 8-track recording unit and a studio was begun in the vestry of a chapel in Cardigan, where Wyn recorded artists such as Ffenestri and Aelwyd Crymych. In a little while the studio was moved to Tenby Road, where an outbuilding was converted for studio purposes. A 24-track analogue system was the invested in, and a new live room was added. By the end of the eighties a number of artists had recorded on the label, and the catalogue was growing. In this period there were improvements being made to the studio. There was also a variety of music being recorded which included choirs, folk music and rock.

Towards the middle of the nineties producing music for children was playing a leading role in Fflach's releases. The caset 'Dau Gi Bach' was produced, and a large number was sold in the first year, and now in CD format is selling as much as ever, and there is a wide variety of music for children in Fflach's catalogue.

In 1997 Fflach decided to start a new label called fflach:tradd, a label to promote Welsh traditional music in Wales and abroad. 'Ffidil' and 'Datgan' were the fist CD's on this label and some of Wales' best fiddlers appeared on 'Ffidil' and leading traditional music singers from Wales, Ireland, Scotland and Brittany featured on 'Datgan'. Ceri Matthews, a famous Welsh piper was appointed as producer of this music and by now there are many CD's in the Fflach Tradd collection. Fflach Tradd artists have appeared throughout the world from Ireland to Vietnam, and the label has had excellent responses from a variety of countries. The CD's have sold in England, Scotland, Ireland, USA, Canada and France.

In the year 2000 a new pop label was started called Rasp and a number of bands have recorded including Yr Anhygoel (Rasp 001), Texas Radio Band, Boisbach, Vanta, Doli, DJ dafis, Martin John, MC Mabon, Mattoidz, Kald and more recently Swci Boscawen, Garej Dolwen, HaKome and Rasputin.

The studio is now completely digital - 32 track and new equipment has been added and is available for hire (phone or e-mail for more information). See STUDIO for full list of equipment.

Fflach also has a publishing company called Cyhoeddiadau Mwldan, where there is a song publishing service.

There is also in the studio facilities for dubbing television programmes, and several programmes have been done for S4C by the comany Wes Glei, there is also a Verity unit for duplicating CD's and DVD's with on-body printing. Therefore the future looks very busy for Fflach, fflach:tradd and the pop label, Rasp.
