Mimosapwka yw'r grwp diweddaraf i recordio ar label Rasp; band sy' wedi'i ddylanwadu gan grwpiau pop o'r wythdegau cynnar fel REM a swn prydferth y gitar drydan. Mae swn cerddorfa o gitars ar y CD, wrth i'r grwp berfformio caneuon pop sy'n swnio fel hen glasuron ond eto fel cerddoriaeth gyfoes. Mae'r grwp yn cynnwys y canwr/cyfansoddwr Gareth Phillips, a Wyn Jones. Mae'r band wedi cael llawer o bleser wrth recordio'u record gyntaf, wrth i hwyl y sesiynau cael eu trosgwlyddo i'r swn ar y record. Mae themau'r rhyfel yn Afghanistan a gwleidyddiaeth yn rhedeg drwy "Ers Y Chwyldro" a "Throw Away", ond mae themau mwy personol yn rhedeg trwy gan annwyl "Sylwi" a "A Most Peculiar Case", a mae "Dyn Mor Gadarn" a "Ble Mae'r Nant" yn gwneud i chi ishe dawnsio . Cafodd CD cyntaf Gareth Phillips ymateb da yn y cyfryngau ac yn cylchgrawn pop mwyaf Iwerddon Hot Press, a bydd siwr o fod ymateb ffafriol arall i'w brosiect newydd.


Mimosapwka is the latest group to record on the Rasp label; a band that is influenced by bands from the early eighties like REM and the beautiful sound of the electric guitar. There is an orchestra of guitars on the CD, as the band performs pop songs that sound like old classics, but at the same time sounding like contemporary music. The group includes singer/songwriter Gareth Phillips and Wyn Jones. The band had a lot of fun recording and this is relayed on to the eight-track CD. Themes vary from the war in Afghanistan and politics run through "Ers y Chwyldro" (Since the Revolution) and Throwaway, but there are more personal themes running through a very dear song - "Sylwi" (Observing), A Most Peculiar Case, "Dyn Mor Gadarn" and "Ble Mae'r Nant" just make you want to dance! Gareth Phillips' first CD had a very good reaction in the media and from Hot Press, Ireland's biggest pop magazine, and there is going to be another favourable reaction to this, his new project.
